This blog is an outlet for me to give honest praise and criticisms to local restaurants around the Phoenix area.  I have had amazing food from some establishments in the valley while others have kicked me out after sitting down because closing time was approaching. I believe in giving credit where credit is due and also talking a bit of trash for restaurants that are sub par.

Tonight I reviewed a local restaurant in east Mesa called Flancers.  I had a cheese burger and their "Get the knack in the mac" (mac and cheese).  The burger was good but not overly exceptional, the meat and toppings did appear to be fresh and of quality consistency.  It tasted ok, similar to that of a typical diner burger.
The mac and cheese however was a pleasant surprise, it had a spicy little kick and a nice crunch from the bread crumbs on the top.  It was made with green chilies from New Mexico and overall was fresh and very good. The portion that was decent and probably sufficient for most appetites.  The service of the restaurant was acceptable, the staff friendly and professional and food was prompt and hot.  The building was of a smaller size, you can tell that its a smaller establishment.  However it was clean and esthetically pleasing.
In conclusion I scored the burger a 3, the mac and cheese was about a 4.  The service was a 5 and the facilities were a 4.  The overall score had the food at a 7 out of 10 and the facilities and service was an 8 out of 10 with a total combined score of 16 out of 20.  I liked Flancers it was a nice little place to eat, I enjoyed the food, service and facilities.  I would definitely go back there for lunch or dinner.
